What is OneChoice?

OneChoice turns a microbiology lab result into practical, evidence-based treatment guidance for healthcare professionals.

It looks at the information sent to Arkstone, which may include the organisms detected, susceptibility results, resistance genes, specimen source, diagnosis code, age, sex, pregnancy or breastfeeding status, and reported drug allergies.

What does the report include?

PathFinder helps identify which organisms are most likely to matter clinically. MedsMatrix compares antimicrobial coverage across those organisms. OneChoice then presents a focused regimen, route, dose, duration, alternatives, and supporting rationale when the available evidence allows.

The goal is not to recommend the broadest possible antibiotic. It is to support effective treatment while avoiding unnecessary antimicrobial use. Sometimes that means recommending focused therapy, and sometimes it means indicating that treatment may not be needed.

What should the clinician do?

OneChoice supports clinical judgment; it does not diagnose the patient or review the complete medical record. The clinician should confirm that the diagnosis and information shown on the report match the patient before prescribing.
