Is OneChoice a medical recommendation?

Modified on Tue, Apr 6, 2021 at 6:13 PM

The OneChoice Report is classified as a clinical decision-making tool under FDA guidelines. This means that while our recommendations can help providers make more informed choices when choosing a treatment plan for their patients, the prescribing physician is wholly responsible for making decisions regarding patient care.

Arkstone’s recommendations are based on a limited set of parameters including the laboratory results, specimen source, organisms and resistance genes detected, and allergies and ICD10 codes reported. Arkstone does not examine the patient, nor review any of the patient's medical history. Therefore, clinical correlation and physician judgment are required when making any diagnosis or treatment decisions, and the physician is free to ignore or modify the OneChoice recommendation completely.
